View Full Version : upgrades and bandwidth - presales

I come this way via many good reviews in DSLR/BBR. I have 3 sites I'd like to move off my home DSL server to a real host. This fits in perfectly with 'Multiple Domain, Plan 1'.
But I may get more accounts later. I assume an upgrade to a Reseller Account would be painless, aside from a little downtime?
Also, does updating the site (via FTP) count against the Data Transfer limits?
Do y'all have any backup/mirror system in place - say your server's HD holding my sites crashes?
Finally, DNS. Most of my clients chose registrars which include DNS service, so I'd just edit those records to point to whatever IP you tell me. But one's registrar does not provide DNS. Do you? If so, point me to a page about it or gimme a basic quote?
Thanks!

Yes, we can upgrade you with no downtime. All you need to do is open a support ticket :)

Yes, everything you transfer counts as data transfer. It has to be paid for some how :)

Yes, all sites are backed up daily to a secondary hard-disk in each of our servers. We also have backup systems on stand by in case of server failures, we can quickly hot swap the hard drives out of the downed server and into a new one. This is all part of our disaster and recovery planning.

DNS comes as part of the hosting service. You simply point your domain names to our name servers. E.g. NSx.rochenhost.com and your sites will work. All prices are listed on our site at: http://www.rochen.com.
If I can be of any further help, please let me know :)

That all sounds great, thanks Chris.
Is there a page which details the DNS service? Can I do email forwarding with it? I don't think there'd be a need to since I'd just setup actual email accounts for each domain, but in case a client wants it - can it be done?
If so, think I'll be signing up real soon ;-)

It all comes as one package. If you look on the plans page, you will see we support email forwarders. You can set these up via the control panel :)
