I'm a very experienced Joomla Webdeveloper, that hosts a lot of customer websites. I go by the name "solsikkehaven" (well, I'm sure if you're from the danish joomla community you know me) and have more than 3.000 posts on the joomla forum and have been in the joomla community for a lot of years now.
through the years I've dealt with a lot of webhost, ranging from very cheap to very expensive. I've not yet tried VPS or dedicated servers, though.
Rochenhost is not the first webhost that comes to mind, when you are considering a reseller option. NOT unlimited space, NOT unlimted Bandwidth and the price is not the cheapest...hmmm. But time has come to test rochenhost, I thought a couple of days ago....Why ? - Websites that load slowly, websites that run OK one minute, the next it's no good at all (I have webhosts in Denmark, Germany, USA etc. - I think I have 2-3 Terabytes "out there", but hey, if the sites are running like crap sometimes, you gotta do something, right ? !).
And I'm pleased to say, Rochenhost delivers ! :
* speed: All Joomla websites are running at max. speed. I have not had Joomla sites running this fast consequently (sorry, I can see that is misspelled in english, but I'm not sure how to spell that - of course, I mean all the time, any time).
* WHM/Cpanel: A lot of webhost's offer Cpanel, but this is by far the most advanced version I've seen as a reseller (well, it's been a while since my last WHM/Cpanel webhost, so it could be what all newer Cpanel's are including).
* No problem with Joomla specific security issues (755/644 and no owner rights problems, as explained by rochenhost on their blog). It's true, no problems at all !
* Rochen Vault...Well, if you don't know what it is, you should really, I mean really look it up...If you just need one reason to switch to Rochenhost instead of your existing webhosts, this is it !
* Billed per month, not per year. No longterm commitment (but hey, if you have 20-30 clients on your reseller solution, you're most likely not switching any day soon :-) ...)
* Upgrade possible without problems. You can switch to more space/bandwidth (a larger reseller plan) at any time without downtime, they promise. I've been promised: "just contact support, they'll upgrade you - no downtime).....I'm gonna do that very soon actually, when I begin to migrate my existing customers to my new platform.
That's my 5-cent for now. Maybe I'll update this thread again in a couple of months.
