I've only been a customer of Rochen for a few weeks, but I've been very impressed. I'm running a small Joomla site, and I've been hired to re-design a few local sites for nonprofits. I needed to find a host which can provide fantastic support and customer service, because if the sites go down, it's my job to bring them up. I don't think I'll have too hard of a job with that :D
I've opened three support tickets, mostly to test out the speed of their service, and their technical knowledge. Any day of the week, at any time, they responded proactively immediately and fixed any problems.
One great plus is that they all know how to speak English. I'm fairly used to contacting 'customer support' teams who are third-party contractors in India. I'd rather pay $8 per month per site and know that if I need help, it's there.
Also, RochenVault is a brilliant service, and they keep Fantastico updated well, which will be helpful when providing updates to CMS installations for clients.
Ultimately, the only reason not to go with Rochen is the price. And honestly, if you're concerned about paying $8 per month for the shared hosting plan, you're website isn't worth much. Really, the cheapest competitors charge approx. $4 per month (for horrible service).
If you think paying $50 per year extra is worth amazing service, brilliant reliability, and high-speed, then you belong at Rochen.
I'll pay $50 per year in exchange for dozens of hours of free time that I'd otherwise spend on the phone with Indian customer support. How much is your time worth?
I obviously can't comment on any plans other than shared hosting, and I don't know about the prices, but I know my shared hosting plan is the right investment.
And when I upgrade, I'm staying with Rochen.
