I am just about to order a reseller account (not sure of which plan yet but will be ordering within the next couple of hours) but could you be so kind as to answer some questions.

1. I already have my primary domain which will obviously be the name of the nameservers. Whilst you are setting up my account I would like to change the name servers on this domain name with the registrar so that when my new account is activated the domain name will work.

What name servers should I set them to?

2. I use a webbased email program for my staff. It requires a "catchall" POP3 account and a cron job to be run every 5 mins to collect incoming email. It also requires an SMTP server to send outgoing email.

Is this possible?

I notice you impose email sending limits via mailing lists I assume that this will not apply to SMTP sending.

3. I need to backup my MySQL databases regularly and have been advised to use Shell access and a command line for backup and restore rather than say phpmyadmin. What are your comments on this.

Thanks for your help and I look forward to being a customer.

Should be fine. Providing it doesn't use too much resources. I don't think it will.

Ours limits do apply to SMTP. - All out going mail. We are quite lenient on these limits. However, excessive, regular bulk mailing will not be permitted.

Dumping the sql database into a file and then copying it to another server or your own macine is a good way of backing up. However, all our servers are backed up daily to another hard disc - and sometime in the near future they will be backed up to a remote location (data will be transferred over a secure tunnel).

I just looked at the time it took to reply. I posted a couple of questions here and I must say you are very impressive.

Off to order my account and I have changed the DNS to those suggested.

Thanks once again - look forward to long relationship.

We like to have good relationships with all of our customers :).
Your order may take up to 48 hours to get set up, but more likely at most a few. This is due to fraud checks which are carried out.
Possibly your account has already been created :).

Thanks. I have ordered my account but I was wondering if you could get it set up for me as soon as possible so that I can set up my email addresses.
