I have two domains hosted by a company that's done a pretty good job, but I like the idea of being allowed unlimited mySQL databases instead of the 1 per domain I have now. My questions:

1. I have ***** running on my site (that's how I heard of Rochenhost.) I had to customize some of the PHP code to correctly point to the folders on the server (the path was /home/tim/public_html/*****/.) I dread having to go back and debug all the changes I made, and dread almost as much reinstalling ***** and starting over. Could I reproduce the same structure and just copy the files over?

2. For the mySQL databases: my current host's support people get really confused when I ask about the database name to refer to in PHP. If I create a database that I call "Test" I have to refer to it as "Tim/Test" in PHP scripts. Is your setup similar? The name isn't important as long as I know how to refer to it with any prefixes you use.

3. What's the best way to migrate the ***** installation? I'm not super technical, but I assume I can FTP the files and folder structure to my PC (in a single step?) and then FTP them to Rochenhost. For the mySQL database, I think I can run a ***** command to back it up to the PC and then FTP that file to your server and run it to restore - correct?

4. I like paying month to month as you prefer except for one item: price protection. Are there any guarantees that after I do the work to move my sites over that the price won't go up and I'll be going back to my original host?

Welcome to the forums

Yes, from what you have shown above, the structure is the same.

2. For the mySQL databases: my current host's support people get really confused when I ask about the database name to refer to in PHP. If I create a database that I call "Test" I have to refer to it as "Tim/Test" in PHP scripts. Is your setup similar? It would be "tim_test" (username_database-name).

3. What's the best way to migrate the ***** installation? I'm not super technical, but I assume I can FTP the files and folder structure to my PC (in a single step?) and then FTP them to Rochenhost. Yes, simply download the files and then FTP them back to our servers. You can also simply dump the MySQL database and then re-import the data via phpMyAdmin (this is included with both our control panel system and *****).

4. I like paying month to month as you prefer except for one item: price protection. Are there any guarantees that after I do the work to move my sites over that the price won't go up and I'll be going back to my original host?
All our packages are month-to-month payments, this means you aren't locked into any long-term contracts. As for prices changes, I can't guarantee anything, as the industry is constantly changing, so it would be silly for us to put a guaranteed price freeze on our plans. What I can say though, our prices have never changed for existing customers.

Please let me know if you have any further questions :)

The multiple domain package is for three completely separate domains, not just a primary domain with subdomains, right? The sign-up uses the word "secondary domain." Does it matter which of the three I name as the "primary?"

Correct, they each have their own CPanel, FTP, Email etc.

Nope, it doesn't - the primary domain is the one we will setup when the account is added to our systems and any other domains you can have us add later for you (these are secondary domains).
