If you're a current customer who has received the welcome email, all support issues should be sent via the support channels (support forums or helpdesk) :)

If you have just signed up and not got the welcome email yet, all the information you asked for above is included in that :)

Our payment processor has classed your order as "high risk" due to your Geographic location. They will run various fraud checks on your order and we shall have you setup within our estimated setup time of 24 hours. Note, your order was only placed just under 2 hours ago.

I was justing few questions and i could not post..
then i could not reach the web site for almost 1 hour =(((

my clients are international companies whose communication traffic mostly runs over email and these mails are mostly job proposals etc. so whenever the site is down, even if this is just one hour they start calling me, and i say this is normal maintenance and this just takes few hours each month. one other thing is they won't lose any email when the site is down??

i have account on another reseller-hosting company, and they made this server-down times very frequent and i am now under pressure by my customers. last week the servers were moving and they did not tell me anything but closed the server for 5 days, tonight the server was down for 8 hours... i cannot afford this and then i am here now =)) and just on the 1st hour this happened ???

none of the hosting companies give %100 uptime guarantee and this is normal but i must ask you if you can give me an average number, how many hours can the servers be down in a month?

one other important question is, i have to connect to a mysql server from my computer at home. is it possible? can i open a user with access from an IP address outside the server (not the localhost)...??? I have to update some of the databases from a desktop application.

these are first questions so far.. thx for your kind attention and fast demand on access...

how many hours can the servers be down in a month?Well, last month, customer servers were probably down about 2 hours total that I know of. Maybe less. I don't really count.

Chris can perhaps give more detailed records of downtime. They graph this kind of stuff so that during peak time and times of the day that things seem to go wrong most, they have a bigger crew on duty to maintain the servers. But mostly, because of their load monitoring systems that they have in place, the servers mostly take care of themselves.

With the advanced 3-tiered level server monitoring systems that Rochen Host has in place, the crew knows if a server is down within 10 seconds.

If a server goes down, the support crew and the CEO (Chris) gets an IM message on AIM, a text message on their cell phones and pages, and also, the alarms go off in the offices.

Usually, if something goes terribly wrong.....they are on it within 1 minute.

They also have load monitoring systems in place that if the server load goes above 7.00, the system kicks in, kills all processes, wait until the load goes down, and the services are restarted. This is so that a server crash is avoided.

one other important question is, i have to connect to a mysql server from my computer at home. is it possible? can i open a user with access from an IP address outside the server (not the localhost)...??? I have to update some of the databases from a desktop application.Yes.

Your order has been flagged for high fraud risk, so has to go through a series of extra checks before we either approve or decline to provide service to you. At this point no charge has been processed to the credit card provided.

Thanks for your answer but I tell you one thing. I have 3 accounts with "Oneworld" and it took me 30 Min (after signup)
to use their services. The credit card I charged was not clients and everything else was on my name ....I think changing your payment gateway will give you more client.
thanks
Roy

The person who signed up for the account has been sent a message asking them to provide a non free-webmail account email address. E.g. their ISP based email address. No response has yet been received.

The reason the order was flagged in the first place was because the domain used to signup, was used in a previous signup and was declined.

Once the above information is provided in reply to the email, we can have it setup :)

Thanks ..for your reply. It was because I could not buy the plan so I told my GF in US to buy it for me. She just went there to do her MBA so she may have her school email address.
I will mail her.

Thanks for your reply. Honestly speaking ...this is the most weird thing I heard from a web host, For me I don't have a ISP based email address and even if I had one, how could you tell the difference ?? For example "Loxinfo" is a ISP here and their web based email and ISP based email address are the same.
Either way you will get a reply soon .....let me tell you the true feeling aboout your sign up process "it sucks" and I rate it "0" because I have never seen any webhost do this with their client.
The reason you can't do it fast is because "you dont have a real time processing system"
Try this one "http://www.oneworldhosting.com" I have 3 accounts accounts with them from last 3 years ....try signing up ....after you have signed up ..in 15 minutes you can use it ...now you are going to say that they are expensive ...right ...Yes ...because you pay for what you get .
Thanks again ......I will use your service and see how good you are ...if you are good I will add a honest comment on this board.
Sorry if this hurts you ...but as I customer this is what I think of "Rochen" and I think other customers should about know this.

It’s not the fact it’s web-based, it’s the fact it’s a free web-based account and is commonly used by those committing fraud, so we can’t track them very easily. At least with an ISP, University or corporate email address we can track that individual.

Most people are generally pleased we take these extra measures to protect our other servers, that clearly other providers don’t.

Thanks for your kind reply. I think you should also consider "Bank Draft" as a form of payment because there is no way people can fraud. The current trend in Thailand is difinately not a ISP based email because they are difficult to manage than web based or free emails. If some one wants to fraud then corporate emails can also be hacked or abused.
I understand you are trying to protect your client but
sometimes it creats inconvenience for some of your client. As for "One world Hosting" they are truly a first class corporation with awesome service and thats why they got #1 at C-net rating.

Then why are you leaving them? I guess this can be answered by your first post in which you said:

This doesn't seem "first class" to me. As for Rochen, I experienced no problems whatsoever with the signup process, and have been 100% pleased with the service, professionalism, and uptime of Rochen. Just my 2 cents.

Anyway, going to lock this thread as it's getting way off-topic and it would probably be best for you or the account holder just to contact me, when you have an alternate email address and we can have the account setup… :)

Note, the listings on C-Net are paid, so providing you put forward enough $$$ you will get the top rating. Same applies to HostIndex etc. that's why a lot of these directories have lost their creditability.
