Hi,
I'm from Singapore and have few questions regarding your re-seller package:
1. How do the WHM and Cpanel look like?
2. Are they user friendly?
3. Can I host ccTLD? (eg. com.sg; com.my; com.hk, etc)
4. Is there any minimum contract? (like 1 year ,etc)
5. Is plan upgrading seamless?(eg. from Plan 1 to Plan 2)
6. Does Rochen have any uptime guarantee?
These are the questions I have so far.
Thanks and best regards.

You can see a demonstration of WHM and CPanel below.
Web Host Manager (WHM) Demo: [http://whmdemo.cpanel.net:2086] [user:root] [pass:whmdemo]
cPanel Demo: [http://cpaneldemo.cpanel.net:2082] [user:cpdemo] [pass:cpdemo]
The look of cPanel can be changed around slightly as we have multiple "cPanel skins" you can select from :) The version of WHM we run also is slightly more user friendly, as it has blue colors, with a cleaner look etc.

Nope, you may cancel at anytime.

5. Is plan upgrading seamless?(eg. from Plan 1 to Plan 2)
Absolutely, you can simply drop a ticket in at our online helpdesk explaining you want to upgrade your plan and it can be done without downtime or interruption to the service.

6. Does Rochen have any uptime guarantee?
Uptime guarantees are simply marketing gimmicks, we don't really believe in them. However, we do publish the uptime statistics for all our servers. These are completely independent results provided by Alertra Inc.
Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance :)

You guys are fast! I'm impressed!
Can't seem to get the WHM link working.
Actually, PHP is totally alien to me (I've been using asp and asp.net). Is it easy to learn/migrate?
What is Python? Do they bite? ;p Pardon my ignorance! (LOL)
Best regards.

That is on the CPanel/WHM developers site. Their demo must be offline at the moment.

If you have been using ASP/ASP.net I think you will find it very easy to learn PHP. We have a lot of very experienced PHP programmers right here on the forums who I am sure would be more than happy to help you along if you get stuck. You may also want to buy a book on PHP from somewhere like http://www.amazon.com :)

No, it doesn't bite :D Python is simply another programming language like PHP, ASP etc. but is less powerful and flexible. I would recommend you learn PHP instead of Python :)

You guys are real fast! Super fast! I'll be migrating shortly.
I've been hosting my sites with MaximumASP. I thought they were fast. But you guys are better!
MaximumASP have been a very good and reliable host. But the price is real high. Guess because it's Windows based.
One last question (I hope).
I have a client who communicates heavily with email. The whole company receives/sends 800 emails a day. They are very particular about not receiving/sending their mails. I had a very bad experience with another hosting company (MCHost), until I switched to MaximumASP.
Now my concern is with downtime. I know it's unfair for me to ask for guarantee. Is there any place from where I can get assurance that Rochen's uptime has been impressive (eg. customer postings on this forum, etc)?
Sorry to be asking you so many questions.
Best regards.

If you want to see some uptime stats, please click on some of the below links. These are the independent uptime stats from Alertra Inc.
View Redmond Uptime Statistics (http://uptime.alertra.com/uptime2?id2=2893&id1=197259)
View Monaco Uptime Statistics (http://uptime.alertra.com/uptime2?id2=2893&id1=197269)
View Houston Uptime Statistics (http://uptime.alertra.com/uptime2?id2=2893&id1=197271)
That is just 3 of our servers picked at random, you will probably be placed on 'Monaco' or 'Houston' if you signup, as they are the two newest servers :)

Hopefully I'm not out of line posting this...
But in regards to the uptime of Rochen...
As a customer for just over 60 days, the service has been down for a total of less then 9 minutes.
Those 9 minutes were announced ahead of time, and had I not known about it ahead of time, I would have never noticed.
I believe the downtime was due to a server reboot or software upgrade, don't remember exactly, but it was very quick.
Coming from a previous hosting company that couldn't keep their servers up for more then a day, Rochen has been unbelievable when it comes to uptime and response time.
On top of it all, you will find a great group of users that support users outside of the helpdesk support that Rochen provides. We try to help each other out.
As for your ASP to PHP converting, its pretty easy. I believe there are even some ASP to PHP conversion scripts out there, just check your code.
PHP is very easy to grasp, especially if you already know ASP.

As far as uptime is concerned, Rochen Host has been very good about it.
Most of the time, the only reason they have downtime is because.....
1. The server load got too high which normally because of their load monitoring systems, the load is brought under control before a server crash could happen. Usually is solved within 45 seconds to 1 minute.
2. Security upgrade. Oh, one thing about security patches at Rochen Host. They are tenacious about those things. It could be as huge as a kernel upgrade to as small as one single line of code, they install it. They take pride in security.
As far as server downtime, well, lets just say that their equivalent of "Big Ben" will go off if that happens. Not to mention they are bombed with AIM messages, cell phone messages, pager messages, and more alerts. Most of the time they know of a problems before I do.
As far as PHP is concerned....I personally like it better. The syntax is less confusing than ASP and ASP.Net in my opinion.
As far as PHP questions, we have people here that can help out, including me.

Your account will most likely be setup within the next 24 hours.
Your credit card number is in the process of being verified by WorldPay (the credit card handler of Rochen Host). As soon as it comes through the payment gateway, Chris or one of the other techs will set the account up.

After checking with Worldpay, it seems that my payment didn't go through. (My next due payment is 8 Apr 03)
What should I do? Should I use another card?
Please let me know as I wanna get the account activated ASAP.
Thanks.

It's UP!
One more question:
Why does my available space show 450MB in the Control Panel? It should show 1000MB right?

Because that is the space for your main reseller domain, not the whole account.
Please direct all support issues either via the support forum or helpdesk :)
